How do I amend mistake in Schedule D on state tax for 2019?
Context:
I think I have been bitten by bug in turbo tax for a few years now: if you enter capital gain and loss information in schedule D for federal tax, it gets carried over to the state tax as-is and if you correct the mistake e.g. (correct the cost-basis) after the fact that schedule D is already generated for state tax then turbotax doesn't bother regenerating the Schedule D for state tax. I had to manually delete the schedule D for state tax this year and redo the state taxes.
Looking back at 2019 tax return, I see that cost basis are correctly reported for federal taxes but not for the state taxes. Can someone please guide me about how to fix that now? (I have tried amending it in turbotax already but since the cost basis were already correct in federal tax, it is not regenerating the schedule D for state tax).
Appreciate the help!
Hope turbotax fixes this bug. It seems to have been reported by at least one more person (from whom I found out that they had to delete schedule D manually to fix their ssue for the current tax year).
