After you file

You said,  "That is precisely why that .tax file is there and that is to transfer your online account to a desktop version of Turbo Tax."

Okay - so the oh-so-obvious question that is begged here is THIS:  Why isn't there an ever-so-helpful sentence below the link "Download .tax file" that says JUST THAT, eg, "You must have a desktop version of Turbo-Tax in order to view this file".    Does Intuit grasp that its customers don't intuit (pun intended) that the ".tax" file can only be opened with a desktop version of TurboTax?   Just what are they thinking when they put stuff up like this - or are they not thinking at all?

Angry?  You bet I am:   You have no idea how many hours I spent on the phone last night with a turgidly obtuse customer support person last night trying to resolve this question, which only raises larger questions about TurboTax itself, and whether anyone in this giant corporation is actually minding the store.   It's not that hard to go through your program and ask, "Will customers understand this?" and "Should we explain this?"
