After you file
I received the email from TurboTax that said my filing was accepted by the IRS. I've received my state refund. When I put in my info on refund status (filed in early Feb) it says this:
We cannot provide any information about your refund. Be sure to:
- verify your filing date;
- check with your tax preparer or tax software provider; or
- verify you received your electronically filed acknowledgement e-mail.
If you filed a complete and accurate tax return, your refund should be issued within 21 days of the received date. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances.
When I try to call the IRS I get an automated system without being able to talk to anyone. It has been more than 21 days. I did get the ACTC this year. Still, I would like to know what is going on and I can't figure out how to contact a person at the IRS.
