After you file
Yes, you need to amend your 2019 return if you need to make any changes.
You are considered self-employed if you carry on a trade or business (not just a hobby), or you are in business for yourself whether it is full time or part-time. A self employed person can be a sole proprietorship, an independent contractor or a freelancer.
To amend prior year return:
- Sign in to your account
- Scroll down to Your tax return & documents (you may need to select Show), select the tax year and then Amend (change) return.
- Carefully follow the instructions. Don't worry if your refund changes to $0. This is normal on amended returns.
- When finished, we'll give you instructions for printing and mailing your amended return as amendments can't be e-filed.
