Once Form 1040X is ready then you will be able to e-file your federal amended return, please see FAQ How to amend a tax return for instructions. It is usually faster to e-file than to mail a paper return. Please see Where's My Amended Return? for processing times and status.
Usually, it is best to wait until your original return has been processed before you file an amended return to avoid any delays.
Please be aware, that the question is if you can be claimed as a dependent. If you meet all of the requirements to be a dependent for someone else then you will have to select that you can be claimed as a dependent even if your parents choose not to claim you.
