Why was my Tax Refund deposited to my Fidelity account?
This was my first year linking my Fidelity account to TurboTax to grab documents for some stocks I sold in 2020 and had to pay STCG taxes on.
I just received a cash deposit for the same amount as my calculated TurboTax tax refund, in my Fidelity Investment account [SPAXX** FIDELITY GOVERNMENT MONEY MARKET] from "TAX PRODUCTSSBTPG LLC" which I assume is TurboTax.
I never entered my Fidelity Investment bank account information (routing # and account #, I never even knew them until today!) all my previous TurboTax refunds have gone to my Bank of America (BofA) account. The only thing I did was link my Fidelity account to TurboTax while filing on TurboTax.
The problem is, I don't remember ever telling TurboTax I wanted my refund sent to my Fidelity account and I don't remember any step while filing that informed me that my refund would be sent to Fidelity. The TurboTax agent I spoke with about this, doesn't know anything about this problem. I'm guessing that when I linked to Fidelity, it somehow became the default direct deposit account, but this is really terrible as I was never given an option to choose, I would have preferred to receive the refund in my BofA accuont.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Thanks
