It appears that I can not amend or correct any errors or wrong answers even though I have not filed this return that I must erase and clear everything and start over?

I want to fix a wrong answer and not clear and erase the entire form.  I do not want to pay for this since it should be a free form. How can I correct an error on 1 question without starting over from scratch?
