2020 Federal return rejected due to allegedly missing foreign tax credit data
For the first time ever, my e-filed Federal tax return has been rejected 😪 I filed using the desktop computer version of TurboTax Premier. The email message from TurboTax states the following:
/Return/ReturnData/IRS1116/ForeignTaxCreditSource/ForeignGrossIncomeAmt - Data in the return is missing or invalid. Please double check your entries.
Most foreign tax information was entered automatically when TurboTax downloaded my 1099-DIV from my mutual fund company. I verified the information that I entered manually. TurboTax found no errors before I filed, and I changed nothing after checking my 2020 foreign tax information and comparing it with my 2019 foreign tax information. So I don't know what to do other than the e-file the identical return again which would also be rejected unless a TurboTax filing bug or IRS return verification bug has been fixed.
I would appreciate any suggestions!
