To add to the frustration, I received a phone call from TurboTax’s direct number today telling me to check my email for simple instructions to resolve a problem with my efile return. I checked my email.. nothing there. I called TurboTax, twice. One specialist said that there are no problems with my account and it’s just pending. The second told me the same, essentially: no problems known until we see it’s rejected.. but lots of other people have received the same call today and it appears that spoofers or hackers are using TurboTax’s actual number to try and obtain personal info. Swell. As if this hasn’t been a big enough pain in the a** already.
