After you file
If you received notification that direct deposit of your stimulus payment was affected by the recent IRS processing error, then you can expect the IRS to make a second attempt within the next few days. It's best to first confirm the status of your stimulus payment at Get My Payment.
If you have not received your payment by January 15, 2021, AND your status remains "unavailable" at Get My Payment, then you will claim your credit when you file your 2020 tax return.

You used direct deposit, but have since closed that account.
