After you file
Thanks for the info. My work was done on a Windows 10 PC. It was l long shot thinking that maybe Turbo Tax retained a copy when I e-filed. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve a backup copy from My Passport external hard drive. Never had needed to to do that before in all the years I have had the drive. Buying that sure paid off.
I took all the steps you outlined but for some reason the 2019 tax files were deleted. They were not even on the One Drive. I have the printed 2019 Federal and State returns but of course that is not going to help me import them into the 2020 Turbo Tax program (unless I entered all that printed information anew into the 2019 Turbo Tax program, something I considered). It's strange because I have been using Turbo Tax since about 2000 and had always saved the returns. Maybe time to use online Turbo Tax version?
Thanks, again, for the speedy reply.
