You Google IRS tax advocate. You have to be behind in medical or rent or car payments or something like that. When they determine that you are really in need then you get sent to intake. I had to wait on hold for 1 1/2 hours! Then you explain what's going on to them. They give you a file number and tell you in 3 business days the tax advocate will call you. I just got the call yesterday. My amended tax return they said just got to the system and I mailed it in July!!! She said they had truck after truck with stack after stack of unopened mail!! Over a million at least! Now that they system finally has mine she's saying it'll be February before I get it!! That's for this year, then there's next year! This has truly been an awful year!!
