The IRS is still working through millions of paper filings. if it hasn't been entered into their computer system calling anyone at the IRS will likely be a waste of time since they can only answer questions as to its status if it has. you are literally in the Twilight Zone. if they have it and you send in a second copy it could further delay your refund. if it got lost since you apparently didn't use a service where you could track it, there's no way to find this out.
I suggest you call to find out what they say and ask what you should do or risk it and send in a second copy but make sure you use a tracking system. it could take 2 months or more for this return to get processed even longer if they have the original return.
