I filed a tax return amendment after I already filed, before the new deadline, but the amended return isn't here and I can't get any info from the feds about it? Advice?

The feds automated system says it can't give me information on my amendment.  
I sent the amendment to where turbo said to send it.
It was a paper filing because this was before electronic amendments were allowed.
