Just got off the phone with the IRS. What we got is a standard response regarding 16 weeks having passed for processing (as in a normal year). Our amended return is currently being processed.Because of current events, the 16 week window started on Aug. 1. If our amended return is accepted, we won't see a check this year but should be able to claim on our 2020 taxes and get it then. If a second relief bill is passed and our amended return has been accepted, it's possible that my son could receive the second check this year. Hope that helps.
