I received the error message listed below. Initially, I had included a dependent but after receiving this message, I deleted the dependent completely and tried resubmitting the tax returns. Every single time I resubmit it, I get another rejection. I completely understand why I received it in response to my initial e-filing but why is it not allowing me to resubmit my corrected tax return? I have tried any and everything to fix this, including deleting the initial tax return and starting completely over. I still get the error message even though the dependent that it is referencing has completely been deleted.
ERROR MESSAGE:
Dependent SSN in the return must not be the same as the Primary or Spouse SSN on another return where 'PrimaryClaimAsDependentInd' or 'SpouseClaimAsDependentInd' is not checked.
