After you file

If the post office, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other essential businesses continue to operate during the pandemic as essential businesses, why can't the IRS at least try to keep things moving along?

People are under a lot of hardship and the money they receive in the form of a tax refund is not non-essential. It can be the difference between getting by or getting evicted, or it could mean going without medication.

I don't understand how they could just stop processing and/or reviewing everyone's returns for months on end, with no end in sight, and with no explanation.

I've been waiting for over 3 months now for my tax refund. And it sounds like from what others are saying here, I could be waiting even longer, possibly 6 months or more, before I see my tax refund issued. My return was accepted on March 18 and it's been showing

"We have received your tax return and it is being processed."

ever since, with no updates whatsoever. No communication from the IRS to explain why it's taking so long either.

Last year I had my tax refund in two weeks. This is bogus!
