After you file
I would follow the steps attached to troubleshoot the issue. An hour is longer than I would expect to receive a code:
If you requested a verification code from us within the last few hours, rest assured we’ve sent it and it’s on its way to you.
However, sometimes email providers hold emails they think are spam, only to release them as long as 48 hours later.
Don’t try to get a new code too soon, it will invalidate the old code and you’ll end up waiting longer.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
I didn't get a code:
If you didn’t get a code, check that you have the correct email listed in your account:
- Select Intuit Account in the left-hand menu.
- Under Account Settings in the PROFILE tab, enter or edit your email address.
I still didn't get a code:
Unfortunately, some providers can take as along as 48 hours to release emails they consider spam, or they may experience system-wide outages that cause delays.
- Add do_not_reply@intuit.com to your email contacts list to help prevent Intuit emails from being treated as spam.
- If you can, try using an email address from a different email provider. (See above for how to change addresses in Account Settings).
The code I got isn’t working:
- Request another verification code (resend verification email).
- Leave the window open that asks for the code--closing it will invalidate the code, because the system will think you logged out.
- Open another tab, window or use a different browser to check your email for the code.
TEXT
If you're not receiving your code via text, make sure you have a current phone number listed in your TurboTax account. Here's how:
- Select Intuit Account in the left-hand menu.
- Under Account Settings in the SECURITY tab, enter or edit your phone number.
