how did you file? if electronically you should have gotten an acceptance or rejection email for both the Federal and Illinois returns. A federal rejection will result in a state rejection. rejection means the IRS/Illinois never got your return. if you mailed them in, the IRS is way behind in processing these returns so it can't even tell you if they got it. in this case, all you can do is periodically review your refund status. Illinois should have gotten and processed your mailed return by now.
