After you file

@dfg5133 Wanted to let you know, I work for the post office. I filed in February also, and this is my experience; I checked Where’s my refund on April 1st, which told me I was mailed a paper refund on March 27th. Reason being, they withheld most of it to pay the remainder of my student loans, and TurboTax rejected the $83 deposit because they couldn’t take $100. So I tried to contact the IRS on April 24th because it said to if I hadn’t received the refund check. I didn't get to speak to a live person of course so I’m out of luck. Fast forward to now, I’m still waiting for direct deposit of stimulus after updating on April 15th. I’m also still waiting for that $83 refund check. On a whim, I checked where’s my refund yesterday. It has updated to say that my refund check was returned by the post office as undeliverable. I find this to be BS because, A, I receive mail several times a week, and my postal pay stub every two weeks! Also, I once moved and my supervisor handed me my mail because the postal service didn’t have my updated address! Something funny is going on, and the system is full of glitches. Until they staff the IRS it seems we’ll continue waiting. Like you, I’m lucky in that I’m still working. I did count on it to take care of some debt last month, but now I’m sitting in a better boat after payday this week, thank God. I’m afraid many of us will be waiting for the stimulus money until we file our taxes next year. This is getting utterly ridiculous, and I can’t imagine how some folks are making when forced out of work. This whole coronavirus thing is a mess and totally mishandled. Thank God it wasn’t something much worse, cause I don’t think the world could make it through. SMH
