After you file
The Coronavirus situation has shut down much of the normal processing and correspondence at the IRS. Long delays are present commonly at the IRS right now. And the IRS live assistance call centers are closed for the time being.
However, the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service offices are still open for phone calls, if you wish to see if they can tell you the reason your refund is delayed.
At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.
