Unfortunately in my & Jamcap75's case, the IRS doesn't have anything to go on showing we are eligible for the stimulus because prior to 2019, 2012 was the last year I had file taxes. In Jamcap75's case if I'm not mistaken without going back to read it all, 2019 was the first year he has filed taxes. The IRS is only going back further than 2018 to figure out who is eligible for the stimulus, so they don't know we are eligible & waiting. Thus, when our 2019 federal taxes are processed, the IRS will see we are eligible. The system is not perfect, & this is an unprecedented time in the history of the United States. I don't blame any one person or organization for my waiting to receive my tax refund & stimulus money. Yes, it is unfortunate, but I'm still glad to know that one day I will receive them both. It will be a blessing. While I certainly do not agree with Trump's policies & priorities during his time in office, I have to thank him & Congress for helping the ordinary citizens of America by giving the stimulus in the first place. One day, hopefully sooner than later, my money will come to me. I'll be able to catch up with my bills, & at least now companies are willing to work with people who have fallen behind. Thank God I am current with everything. I know a lot of people are in worse shape than I am. A young man who is a co-worker of mine helps his mom raise his 3 younger siblings hasn't worked long enough to qualify for unemployment. He has been out of work as long as I have & hasn't had any money coming in. His family have COVID-19. He called me yesterday to tell me his phone would be cut off because he cannot afford to pay the bill. He didn't want me to worry if I couldn't get in touch with him. Later today I am going to take him some groceries & a little money to help sustain them. Thank God I get unemployment benefits now, & thank God my boyfriend is an "essential" worker. We are both happy to be in a position to help a little. If the roles were reversed, I hope someone would be willing to help us because I have no family for any type of support. Anyway, I digress...all I wanted to say is that I will wait on my money because I have no other choice.
