@Hortonm1976- you probably got caught in the 'cutoff'. The IRS is beginning to send out paper checks so at some point that have to cut off people from changing from check to direct deposit so that they don't receive both.
sounds like that happened to you
1st wave of checks are going out the week of April 24 for those making under 10k
the 2nd wave is next week (May 1) for those making under 20k
