I am 24 years old, a full time student, and I live at home. However, I am also a full-time worker and made approximately $28,000. I filed prior to my parents and claimed myself as a dependent, seeing as my parents typically claim me as a dependent. However, when my parents went to file, it stated that I made too much income to be claimed as a dependent. Should I amend my tax return to file as an independent? And will this allow me to get an economic stimulus check? Also, when I went to amend my return, it said that I have to use the Deluxe version and pay nearly $110. Is there a way around this?
