The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service announced that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people.
To receive information about your stimulus payment, the IRS will soon be establishing a “Get My Payment” application to allow you to:
- Check your payment status,
- Confirm your payment type such as direct deposit or check,
- Enter your bank account information for direct deposit if the IRS does not have your direct deposit information and has not sent your payment yet.
