I don’t know if this applies to the card you have or if the irs has updated things since then but maybe .... 8 years ago the government also issued stimulus checks. Well we always did turbo tax online by ourselves. We just had the fees come straight out of our taxes instead of paying up front. Well when you do this in order for turbo tax to get their fee they technically have your refund deposited into their account and then turbo tax sends you the money. So the government doesn’t have your information they have turbo tax. And for people that did it this way you had to wait for a paper check in the mail.
