If the 1098 will make a difference, you will need to amend the return.
You need to allow the original return to process first. If you file the amended return (1040X) too soon, the returns will cross in the IRS system and cause problems. Additionally, the IRS may correct the entry.
If you do need to amend, TurboTax can get you through that.
The amend feature will be available sometime in February.
If you will owe more tax, or need to return part of a refund, be sure to file the amended return by April 18th, 2019.
