Thanks for your reply. I get it and wasn't really expecting that.  Just thought they might have something they could send out electronically to reply to to confirm info that was going to be direct deposited like the response communications you get back when e-filed and they approved them.  Just wishful thinking I guess.  So now they will probably try to send it to direct deposit and then it will have to be rejected and will float around in their system for a long time before it will switch to sending a check to our current address and may be a very long time now before we get it, even longer than if they just didn't even try to send it thru direct deposit first.
