I mistakenly marked the box that someone can claim me as a dependent on my 2019 tax return (I thought my parents would claim me on their taxes), so I have amended my return to correct it.
However, Turbotax says I cannot e-file my NY state return because:
We could not process your tax data for electronic filing. You will have to print your return and send it by mail.
So I chose file state return by mail, but Turbotax only gives the option to print out amended federal return.
Well, I found that I can view&print my amended state return on the page before proceeding to e-file transmission page, but am wondering if the reason Turbotax doesn't give me the option to e-file or mail my amended NY state return is I haven't filed my amended federal return yet?
