I have the same error. Some of my friends do as well and basically we just sit and wait. Last year this message happened as well and had to sit and wait until May from January. I feel like its either a glitch in their system upon getting the return or they are looking at something and just burning time to hold the money.
Ive seen friends who got a different message as well as a notice for w2 withholdings to be looked at (DTF-973.56-0 OR DTF-973.96-0) meaning their W2 was not uploaded by their job or the withholdings on the tax return were entered wrong.
Ive seen friends who got a message saying more info needed, and then a letter (DTF-973.87) or their refund was denied due to information sent in (SAME DTF 973.87)
DTF 160-A or DTF 161-A seem to be account was adjusted (refund) but incorrected and DTF 160 and 161 are account was adjusted (refund).
Then there is a whole slew of review and audit notices.

No further information is available at this time.**** comes with NO notice, NO reference and if you make a NYS Taxation account online, you will see NO notice. Even when you get a notice, it NEVER SHOWS YOU GOT A NOTICE ONLINE.
Reminder: Your CONFIRMATION NUMBER listed under your NYS online account is the same as your DOCUMENT NUMBER
