You will not have the same problem if you file by mail.
If you file your federal tax return by mail, you also have to file your state tax return by mail. You cannot e-file a state tax return if you do not e-file the federal tax return. You can use TurboTax to prepare and print the state tax return, but you have to file it by mail.
