After you file

Once you e-file your return and IRS accepts it, then your return is on IRS timetable. There is no way of knowing exactly when IRS will finish processing your return, but you can always track your refund on the IRS website. You will not see your refund expected date, on the IRS websiteuntil after IRS approves the refund.  If it is approved, IRS will update your status, and they will give you an estimated date. For most taxpayers, (9 out of 10), the refund process takes approximately 21 days. With those who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit, there is a delay for those recipients. To find out more about the delay, please see this TurboTax FAQ, Some 2019 federal refunds are delayed due to the PATH Act Also, please see this related TurboTax FAQ: When will I get my IRS tax refund?
