After you file

You do not need to report your federal refund on your 2019 tax return.

The State refund may need to be reported.  When you go through TurboTax for your 2019 tax return, go to the section in Federal (in the black menu to the left) and then choose Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns.  Go through this section and answer all the questions.  TurboTax will determine if any part of your State Refund is taxable.  (Your refund may already be showing in this section if you used the same account and version of TurboTax to amend your 2018 return) but I recommend going through this section to ensure everything is correct.

Here is a TurboTax Help Article with more details on when your State/Local Refund will be taxable:  Is my State/Local Refund Taxable?
