After you file
No, the IRS will not correct your return for you. However, the IRS has also received a copy of these forms and will be looking for that information on your tax return. If you did not correct this, the IRS would most likely notify you by mail that this information was not reported on your return.
You will need to amend your return to include the 1099-R and 1099-SA. Since you already submitted your return and it has been accepted, you will need to amend your return. Here's how to do this:
- Log into TurboTax and click on "Tax Home"
- Scroll down to Your tax return & documents (you may need to select Show), select 2019 and then Amend (change) return.
- Select Amend using TurboTax Online
To add your 1099-R:
- Click on "Wages & Income" at the top
- Click on "Show More" to the right of "Retirement Plans & Social Security"
- Then click on "Start" or "Revisit" next to "IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)"
- Click on "Add a 1099-R" and enter your information
To add your 1099-SA:
- Click on "Wages & Income" at the top
- Scroll down to "Less Common Income" and click on "Show More"
- Then click on "Start" or "Revisit" next to "1099-SA, HSA, MSA"
- Enter your information
