What do you mean did not receive a tax return "in" 2016? In the year 2016, it was 2015 returns that were being filed. Tax year 2016 returns were not filed until 2017. What exact tax year return are you referring to? I suspect you're referring to a 2016 tax return, but the way you worded it, that could be interpreted a couple of ways.
In any case, are you sure it was successfully filed? Was it efiled, or did you choose to print and mail?
Was it prepared in Online TurboTax? If so, log back into your Online account and at the Tax Home, scroll down to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents". Expand that section and choose the proper tax year in question. Does it say that that return was filed in that account, and what does it show for the status--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?
