You can make the change on your phone. Locate where you entered your personal information such as Name, Address, and Social Security Number. Changing the filing status would be in the same section.
If you log into TurboTax using the browser instead of the App you can access My Info
- Log into using www.turbotax.com
- Sign into your return
- In the upper left sign of the screen you will see three bars.
- Tap the three bars
- Select 2019 taxes
- Select My Info
From the steps on the first response:
- The second category on the screen should show Married Filing Jointly, Select Edit on the right side of the screen.
- At the bottom of the screen you need Select No to the question -
"Do you want to file this return together with your spouse?"
- Select Continue at the bottom of the screen.
