I was approved for 2000 and was approved for the card. I even received the card before the irs even accepted my return. I have the emails to prove it. They sent one saying the card was being printed, one saying it was on its way...and then at least 3 telling me not to forget to finish setting my turbo card up. All of this before the irs even started accepting returns. Then at almost the same time I received the email saying my return has been accepted by the irs, I also received one from Green Dot saying that even though I wasn't approved that my card was still on its way. I think its all a scam to get people to use their services and take the green dot card. I'm happy for the ones that actually did get the advance. I'm wondering if maybe it has something to do with me getting the earned income credit and the child tax credit?? From what I understand, those refund won't even be issued until after Feb. 14. Im wondering if anyone else that claimed those credits have had the same problem. I just know its all way too confusing and its false advertising. I'll NEVER use turbo tax again.
