Or, you know, just build the ability to perform these necessary calculations into the 2017 software. I need the adjusted values for 2017 taxes. It’s pretty weird I’m being asked by a piece of tax software to perform a bunch of complex calculations on a 2016 tax form by hand just to fill out something needed for 2017 taxes. (The software literally says, put these vlues in these boxes, run the numbers, and copy the result back when you’re done.) Isn’t this what I paid for the 2017 software to do for me? I might give it another chance, but I’m not going to pay for incomplete software year after year.
