Unfortunately, you cannot make changes to a return that has already been filed. Once you transmit a return you cannot get it back. You will have to wait until your return gets accepted or rejected. If your return gets rejected, then you can add your information & then re-e-file.
If your return gets accepted, then you will have to amend your return to add your missing information. The amended form usually comes out sometime in February. Amended returns must be mailed.
If you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.” If you used our CD/download product, sign back into your return and select “Amend a filed return.” You must file a separate Form 1040X for each tax return you are amending.
