To all who post or follow this thread ... the IRS is not being lazy they are just very understaffed due to the yearly budget cuts and the new processing they have to do like all these ID verifications which actually has greatly reduced the income tax fraud which is saving the american taxpayers billions in fraudulent refunds. 

 

Now if everyone will reach out to their congressperson and demand the IRS be better funded so that they can do the overwhelming job they have to do then maybe something will get done.  I always thought it was interesting that the one real source of income for the US government has its budget cut every year and the workload increased ( IE recent form changes & tax law changes)  but  congress can spend money faster than the IRS can bring it in.  For instance,  for every auditor the IRS has they bring in $10 of tax money for every $1 it costs to employ them ... great rate of return on investment but the congress doesn't see it.
