Have received notice from IRS that certain numbers reported in tax filing do not match data reported to IRS. How do I confirm that transport of data from Turbo Tax to IRS was accurate? One number is a 1099-R. On the printed tax form the amount is the same as "reported by others" to IRS. "Shown on return" is a lower number, per IRS notice. The "reported by others" and amount shown on the printed form are both correct; "shown on return" is incorrect. "Shown on return" appears to be transmission from Turbo Tax. Why is there a difference?
