The HSA contribution resulted in a refund at both state and federal levels. However when I went to print the sheets to PDF, it appears that on the amended state return it had combined the "previous refund" line together with the "new refund" and thus canceled out the new refund.
In other words, the original "as-filed" form shows "previous refund" as $0 and "overpayment" as $100 (not the real number). This is correct, however, the new "amended" form shows "previous refund" as $150 (again not the real number). This is a combination of the $100 ACTUAL previous refund, plus the new $50 overpayment as a result of the prior year HSA contribution. This nets a $0 refund on the amended return, instead of the $50 refund I should be receiving.
On the amended form, the "previous refund" should be $100 and the "overpayment" should be $50.
This appears to be an error in the software and I was given no option to report this other than via these forums.
