Received CP3219A and agreed to changes. Realized later that the number they provided was higher than it should be. Can i file 1040x or do i have to pay full amount now?
I received a CP3219A notice last year about a deficiency in my tax returns. I responded by saying I agree to the the return to the changes. I recently received a Cp22a of the total amount I owe and it is billed on my irs.gov account as part of a balance that I owe. I found out after the fact thatthe number I owe is not accurate. I do owe money, but the liability is MUCH less than It says on the notice. Can i still file a 1040x to get the money back, or am i stuck because i agreed to the changes in the CP3219A notice?
