After you file
It has nothing to do with when you filed..the irs receives returns allday everyday and when they are accepted they go into an ALPHABETICAL pipeline...the pipeline is also sorted by state...so if ur last name is a Z and u are in a state thats looked at last, then it can b longer than someone who has a last name starting with an A and are in a state bf you. So someone filing last week could jump in the pipeline in front of someone who filed in January. It sucks but thats just the way the computer system sorts it...Crazy thing is your return could be minutes from being reviewed and the pipeline fill hundreds of more people in front of you and push you a couple hours/days back...hope everyone understands now...I worked for irs for 15 years in refund issue dept and thats how it was explained to me.
