After you file
It doesn't matter where you earned the income. What counts is where your lived when you received the income. If you worked for the same employer before and after the move, it depends on how the employer reported the income, by state, in boxes 15-17, of your W-2.
So, if you end up paying CA, you'll then have to file an amended return to get it back from IL
