My MAC computer does not download the 2017 amend version, can I fill out the 1099 B form by hand and reeturn it with the IRS letter?

THe IRS letter has questions about the sale of stocks. I cannot amend on my computer,  can I do this by hand on the proper form and return it with the letter to the IRS?
