Not sure what you mean that an amended return was "accepted." "Accepted" is a term used for an efiled original return. Since an amended return is mailed, perhaps you mean that is the date the IRS posted its status on their website?
In any case, if you are having trouble getting the IRS to give you info about your return, you can enlist the Taxpayer Advocate Service to help you. At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your IRS Taxpayer Advocate.
