After you file

No, the IRS has not announced the release of a corrected Form 1040.

According to the IRS Instructions for Form 1040 Page 1,

"For the latest information about developments related to Form 1040 and its instructions, such as legislation enacted after they were published, go to IRS.gov/Form1040."

If you visit the website, you should see under Recent Developments, it says "Not at this time."

You may also review the IRS Newsroom (You may refer to the links on the left panel such as What's Hot, News Releases, and/or IRS Statements and Announcements.)

Of course, you may wait to file, if you would like, since the deadline to file the federal tax return for tax year 2017 is April 17, 2018.

Per IRS Instructions for Form 1040 Page 7:

When and Where Should You File?

"File Form 1040 by April 17, 2018. (The due date is April 17, instead of April 15, because April 15 falls on a Sunday and April 16 is the Emancipation Day holiday in the District of Columbia—even if you do not live in the District of Columbia.) If you file after this date, you may have to pay interest and penalties."
