I have NOT ever received my 2016 taxes! Where is my money and when will I receive it?!

After you file

It seems like you are confused by this process and it is quite possible that your return was never filed.  If you did not go all the way through the FILE section and click the orange button that says "Transmit Returns Now" then your return was not filed.  Or if it was rejected, and not re-submitted, it was never filed.  You have not shared what the results were if you checked your e-file status using the link that was provided to you, nor have you said what the IRS site says about your return.

If in fact your return was not filed, then you need to print it, sign it and mail it. It is not possible to e-file it now.  Here is a link to what you need to do:

To finish a prior year return started in TT online:https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2559403-how-do-i-finish-a-prior-year-return-that-i-started-in-turb

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?

Use this TurboTax website to check the status of an e-filed return and if it was either accepted or rejected - https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

What does the TurboTax and/or the IRS website indicate?

So do I start over or something? I wish I had you here to help because I am very lost. I did everything like answer the questions and when I was done, it gave me the amount and the status was in pending. I don't know what happened after that besides it telling me to download something but I couldn't cause I was on my phone, not a computer.

After you file

Find a friend or a family member with a computer and a printer. Print the returns off, sign them and mail them.

After you file

Yes.  You must now use a computer.  You cannot complete this process on a mobile device.

If you are filing a state return, you will need to tell us what state and we can help with where to mail your state return.  They get mailed in separate envelopes to completely separate places.

You have to use a pen and sign it.  An "electronic" signature is only for an e-filed return.  When you file on paper you have to physically sign the return.  You also need to attach the W-2's to the return.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
