No. The IRS treats your original return and amended return as two separate returns. You should wait until your original return has been accepted, approved and you have received your refund to amend your original return. You cannot e-file
an amended return. They have to be mailed (if you have not mailed it, it has not been filed), and it takes up to 16 weeks for the
IRS to process an amended return. 3 weeks after you mailed your amendment, you
can start tracking its progress at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? site.
